Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Detail Pros (“Detail Pros,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a software platform operated by Def Tech Ops that helps auto, boat, and RV detailing businesses (“Shops”) manage bookings, scheduling, payments, vehicle records, messaging, memberships, and a branded website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to our marketing site at detailpros.app and to the Detail Pros application (including admin portals on *.detailpros.app and on Shops’ connected domains). By using Detail Pros, you agree to this policy.
1. Who this policy covers
We handle two broad categories of people:
- Shop users — owners, admins, and staff who sign in to operate a detailing business on Detail Pros.
- End customers — the customers of those Shops, whose contact and vehicle details a Shop stores to deliver its services.
For end-customer data, the Shop is the controller of that information and Detail Pros acts as a service provider/processor on the Shop’s behalf. If you are an end customer, please direct privacy requests to the Shop you do business with; we will assist them in responding.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & profile: name, email address, and—when you sign in with Google—the basic profile information Google shares (name, email, and profile picture).
- Business information: your Shop’s name, services, pricing, branding/logo, business email, phone number, and domains.
- Customer & vehicle records: end-customer names, contact details, vehicle information (including VIN-derived year/make/model/trim), and service history that a Shop enters or imports.
- Messages: the content of two-way text messages you send or receive through the platform.
- Support communications: information you provide when you contact us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data such as log entries, IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the service.
Information from connected services
- Payment processors (Square or Stripe): when a Shop connects its own Square or Stripe account, we receive account identifiers and limited customer/transaction metadata needed to sync customers and record payments. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Google Sign-In: when you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture to create and authenticate your account.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Detail Pros platform.
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Process bookings, sync customers, and record payments through a Shop’s connected processor.
- Send transactional and service messages (including SMS reminders and confirmations the Shop initiates).
- Provide support, improve features, and analyze aggregate usage.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your data or your customers’ data for advertising.
4. Google API Services disclosure
Detail Pros’ use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google Sign-In solely to authenticate you and populate your basic account profile. We do not transfer or use this information for serving ads, and we do not allow humans to read it except where you grant consent, for security, to comply with law, or as part of internal operations with the data de-identified/aggregated.
5. How information is shared
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- Service providers (sub-processors) that host and power the platform, including: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (web hosting), Square and Stripe (payments, only when a Shop connects them), Twilio (SMS messaging), and Google (sign-in).
- Between a Shop and its authorized users, according to each user’s role and permissions.
- For legal reasons, to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
6. SMS / text messaging
Two-way texting is sent through a Shop’s registered business number using A2P-compliant messaging. Message and data rates may apply. End customers can opt out of messages at any time by replying STOP; consent for marketing messages is collected by the Shop.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as an account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When a Shop closes its account, we delete or de-identify associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards—including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level data isolation between Shops—to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
9. Your choices & rights
- Access, correct, or delete your account information from within the app or by contacting us.
- Disconnect a payment processor or revoke Google access at any time.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. End customers should contact the relevant Shop.
10. Children’s privacy
Detail Pros is a business tool not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
